St Keverne Curriculum Statement

Curriculum Intent Statement

Our St Keverne, ‘REAL’ curriculum (Resilient, Engaged, Ambitious, Language) is based upon our children’s needs and interest, linked to our local community, where every child is recognised as a unique individual.

Our bespoke, ‘REAL, curriculum drives what we want for our children to learn and how they are going to do to achieve it.  Our intent is for our children to leave St Keverne School demonstratingresilience and having the confidence and skills to make decisions, self-evaluate, make connections, becoming lifelong, independent learners.  We want our pupils to be actively engaged in their learning and the world around them, taking ownership of this and their life choices.  We want our pupils to be ambitious and be prepared to always ‘have a go!’ High quality language & vocabulary are fundamental to be successful in modern life Britain and this is a key driver our curriculum.  We strongly value the fact that our pupils are part of a tight-knit community and that this is linked to the wider world. Our curriculum provides enhancement and enrichment opportunities to engage and support learning. We believe that children should be happy and inquisitive, to help foster a thirst for new experiences and knowledge. Our passionate staff want every child to realise their potential as a result of our broad and balanced curriculum offer.
